Ich hatte Probleme eMails über sendmail (Exim) nach extern zu verschicken. In /var/mail sollte nach Fehlermeldungen geschaut werden.

In meinem Fall kam hier die Meldung „Mailing to remote domains not supported„.

Das ist so weil Exim standardmäßig so konfiguriert ist mails nur lokal zu versenden.

Um das zu ändern muss Exim neu konfiguriert werden:

dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config

1. mail sent by smarthost; received via SMTP or fetchmail
2. System Mail Name definieren (FQDN) zB: blix0r.de
3. SMTP nur auf den localhost beschränken um Zugriffe durch externe zu vermeiden. (127.0.0.1: ::1)
4. Other destinations for wich mail is accepted: keine
5. Machines to relay mail for: keine
6. IP adress or host name of the outgoing smarthost: smtp.gmail.com::587
7. Hide local mail name in outgoing mail? No
8. Keep number of DNS-queries minimal (Dial-on-Demand)? No
9. Delivery method for local mail: mbox format in /var/mail
10. Split configuration info small files? No

Google Mail Konto konfigurieren

nano /etc/exim4/passwd.client
*.google.com:mail@blix0r.de:DasPasswort
